About Charity Science Health:
Charity Science Health was launched with the ambition of being the first direct-poverty charity started by EAs to become GiveWell-recommended. A year into the project we have received two GiveWell incubation grants and have helped over 200,000 new parents and their infants. The plan for the next two years is to run a high-quality RCT and, depending on the results, apply for GiveWell top charity status.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
The Program Assistant (PA) of Charity Science Health (CSH) is an extremely important role with very high potential for impact. Currently, there are two main skills sets that we require for this position: the ability to critically evaluate problems and management. The main task would be to work alongside the Program Officers at CSH in improving the M&E system and help manage the teams of door-to-door surveyor supervisors. The PA’s specific responsibilities may include:
The level of responsibility and possibility of promotion is essentially unlimited for a staff member who demonstrates the ability to make decisions aligned with organizational objectives, take well-justified risks, and create opportunities.
CSH is committed to the professional development of our team members. Program Assistants will have opportunities to set ambitious goals for themselves; they receive mentoring and support to grow professionally and succeed.
The Program Assistant role serves as the stepping stone towards becoming the Program Officer. One of our aims is to grow as much of our own staff as possible in-house and we will make a great deal of effort to give the Program Assistant candidates opportunities to grow.
